FREE Public Screening of Miss Representation

The documentary film Miss Representation will be screened at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2014 in the Chapel at the Jones Center for Families in Springdale. Tickets are FREE to the public and available through EventBrite.  The screening is hosted by Womenade of NWA and the Women's Foundation of Arkansas.  Following the screening, there will a discussion faciliated by Cynthia Nance, Dean Emeritus and Nathan G. Gordon Professor of Law, University of Arkansas School of Law.

Premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, Miss Representation is written and directed by Jennifer Siebel Newsom and exposes how mainstream media contribute to the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence in America. The film challenges the media's limited and often disparaging portrayals os women and girls, which make it diifficult for women to achieve leadership positions and for the average woman to feel powerful herself.

Give Thanks for the Girls - 2012

Womenade's Annual BRA-raiser benefiting area shelters.

Get our your glue guns, dig out the old Be'Dazzler and decorate your bra! Our panel of celebrity judges will award prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. There will also be a People's Choice Award which YOU can vote on!

Womenade NWA Presents the 4th Annual Holiday Market

Let's WIPE OUT domestic violence!  Womenade of NWA is collecting new bath towels, hand towels or wash cloths as admission to the Holiday Market.  These items will be donated to Peace at Home Family Shelter.  When women leave the shelter, they'll be taking these items with them as they set up their new household.

Holiday Market

Supporting the Girls 2.0

Last year was so much fun, we're doing it again!

Womenade of NWA invites you to combine the strengths of friendship, generosity and good old fashioned fun to help "Support the Girls of NWA." Our current project is to benefity NWA women at the local high schools and women's shelters who need a little help with taking care of some basic necessities. We'll be collecting donations of new bras.

Admission is $10 or a NEW BRA (all sizes needed!)

This evening will be full of glitz, glamour and giggles! Girls go crazy and decorate those bras! There will be a contest held for all who want to participate. Stay tuned to learn which categories we'll be judging in this year.
